Introduction [History of Genders]

For the readers the 60s and the hippie movement may be a reference as for a point in time in which a shift in society regarding traditional practices on gender roles, relationships and perception of gender takes place. But the origin of those changes was not in the last century.

In the 1800s and 1700s for example, women did lead change, became unique examples of knowledge and also battle for acknowledgement as much as they had to hide skills, knowledge and potential, while living under judgmental eyes of a male constructed society, with male leadership, male oriented education and male thinking patterns.

Gladly that scenario did change not without effort or hassle, sacrifices were made by many generations of women that made change possible. The first women voting, the first women accepted at schools, the first women doctors, the first women official national leaders, prime minister or presidents, the first women entrepreneurs, from social engagement to business heroes, artists and leaders, women have been behind, in the front line and overseen the history of human evolution and achievements. Facts that can not be hidden, denied or downsized in their value and importance for our human history.

In the traditional family model, or in the rainforest and dessert tribes family construct, there was not different. Women played an important role for decision making, as for their capacity to represent the female collective interests and preferences at home, individually, in communication and collaboration with their love partners. While a male circle will make decisions together, the female collective will gather in several other forms and also enter into agreement.

Even in more recent times it is not unusual to hear about successful stories of happy marriages, co-parenting and family cared by both together, men and women, successfully. Thanks to both, men and women, ability to learn, educate themselves, in the art of love relationship, parenting, communication and collaboration.

But there have been as well shocking cases of drama, trauma, abuse, neglecting, ignorance and disempowerment cause of suffering of women and children.

Which may be as well the cause why a powerful movement for women protection, acknowledgement, empowerment may have applied a polarized and separation oriented set of practices as for achieving their goals. Some of these practices did focus on social communication and education, to leadership and policy change, while others were more radical and envision an Utopia world without men or the return of a Matriarchy type of civilization.

From extreme ideas like semen bank and male re-education, artificial insemination, to emotional and psychological castration of male, male sacrifices, causing divorces, to development of technology for gender change or control of hormones shifts along menstrual and ovulation cycles; or even the association of female entrepreneurs into inly for women business and ventures.

Along the praxis of these alternatives both men and women did suffer, learned and explored on new possibilities for self-expression, choices, personal development, communication, collaboration and relationship between each other which eventually ends in as a wrote polarized point of view in which women is perceived as separated from the man, as for purpose of the women empowerment.

In this context the Matrix-Q Research Institute will intent to proof the contrary, that family keep being a vessel for humanity to evolve and that it actually holds within itself all the nurturing substances, experiences and challenges that can help humanity and culture evolve. Including both male and female human species, men and women.

Cultures, traditions, religions have evolved, and while in general each of them looks for human well being and integration of values and principles towards community and love for each other, practices and rules vary from culture to culture, location to location, cluster to cluster, leader to leader.

Traditional Scriptures and sacred books interpretation, scientific research, beliefs and cultural traditions, may have been used successfully against the happiness and well being of women world wide. But not only against women but also against male, and family.

Nowadays, with a grounded perception of the value of the human individual, and the acknowledgment and respect its deserves, as for the declaration of human rights, children rights and women rights, modern culture generations have instruments and knowledge necessary for them to implement changes and advance their own communities, regarding how women are recognized in their rights and empowered.

A long term process of change, that involve understanding of own cultural values under the light of the individual and collective rights, and finding a bridge of harmony between culture, tradition, belief, religion, science and a global culture policy for sustainable development.

In this context the Matrix-Q Research Institute intents to contribute with its body of knowledge applied for women empowerment, protection of their rights, care for their well being, as children, adults or senior.
